Sumario: The Constitution of Ecuador is recognized and guaranteed in Article 328 that:. "Compensation is fair, with a living salary that covers at least the basic needs of the worker, as well as those of his family ..." the basic needs of the family are covering at least the basic family basket. The living salary is born as a social and economic element, as a key for the development of good living, in the National Plan for Good Living, provides steady work, fair and dignified in its diverse forms, because everybody have the right to have the work recognized and valued; this principle also seeks to reduce the gap between the cost of the basic food basket and the Unified basic salary. In The Code of Production, Trade and Investmentliving salary components are indicated, such as basic salary, the thirteenth and fourth remuneration, variable fees, utilities, reserve funds and other benefits received by the employee in cash. According to the Great Place to Work Institute, the degree of employee satisfaction is achieved by balancing the emotional and monetary salary; emotional and motivational link that exists in the workplace and the employee's salary earn influence his/her decision to work. Decent and fair salary guarantee quality work and raise the productivity of the company, both essential to the development of any profit entity; also will reduce employee turnover and training costs of new employees; invigorating the economy circular flow where homes and factories are the main actors.
