Sumario: The investigation analyzes the variation of biochemical profile in two essential oils Cymbopogon citratus and Zingiber officinale through the identification about their principal components to correlate with environmental conditions and type of soil in the sampling areas. The provinces assigned to get the samples were Loja, Azuay, Cañar, El Oro and Zamora Chinchipe, the coordinates and the environmental factors (relative humidity, temperature, altitude) were measured in every single site. Essential oil and soil samples, by using analytical techniques for each case the physical and chemical parameters were examined: essential oil performance, density, refraction index, biochemical profile and humidity, organic matter, texture, pH and conductivity, K, Fe, P, N. The obtained results show us the existence of different chemotypes founded in the biochemical profile of both samples species, the correspondence between soil and climate variables related with the concentration of interest compounds in Cymbopogon citratus is positive and the similarities founded between the samples are based mainly in environmental factors, soil and nutrients.
