This research will analyze the evolution of microcredit and how it has become a funding mechanism for low-income sectors as well as an effective instrument for poverty reduction.
The research will focus on examining how microcredit has become an instrument that has contributed to the reactivation of entrepreneurship, generating economic development.
Therefore, it is necessary to examine the microcredit since its inception, how it was born, what are its main characteristics, its main thrusters through history and its development.
This paper is organized in six chapters as follows. In the first chapter, an introduction of the objective of the research will be provided; the second chapter is focused on establish certain concepts, such as microcredit, financial institutions, etc. Furthermore, topics such as the history and development of microcredit will be reviewed. In the third the methodology is reviewed for this research. The fourth section provides a diagnosis of the population of the province of Tungurahua, analyses the development of microcredit in this province and the role of financial operators within the province of Tungurahua.
The fifth chapter analyses how the microcredit has become an instrument of financial inclusion for groups that have been historically excluded from traditional banking.
The analysis is focused on demonstrating quantitatively access to credits that have allowed the inclusion of this type of financing through the portfolio that has been granted and the number of transactions that have been made for certain sectors.
Finally I present some conclusions and recommendations focus on the development of research directed towards the improvement of this financing instrument that has allowed
excluded groups to obtain funding in order to improve the quality of life of vulnerable groups. |
