The main objective of this thesis is to conduct a technical and economic feasibility study
for the implementation of the SCADA system in the province's hydroelectric project Carchi
Look. In order to know if it is technically and economically feasible its implementation is
also described current conditions of the plant and provides options for integrating central
SCADA system for subsequent implementation.
The technical feasibility study consists of: whether the necessary resources and tools, teams
are required to undertake the activities and processes required for the project. The project
should consider whether the current technical resources are adequate or need to be
supplemented with new equipment that can be deployed Scada system. When diagnosing
these parameters can identify shortcomings.

The economic feasibility study is to: Know the economic and financial resources needed to
develop or carry out activities or processes. Generally the economic feasibility is the most
important because through it are overcome other shortcomings of other resources, is the
most difficult to achieve and requires additional activities when not possessed.
Having identified the problems you may have, it shall carry out the most feasible
recommendations for their improvements or corrections, in terms of the requirements
requested.
It will give a plus to this proposed study designs for Scada system screens where you can
guide the time of programming.
This study also makes the selection of supervisory system to be implemented as Scada
system, making a comparison of the technical characteristics among some supervisory
systems, the selection is taken into account some characteristics like maintainability,
flexibility, technical support, web publisher, price and more.
Another objective of this thesis is to propose architectures to be implemented taking into
account the technical characteristics of the teams, this is given options to be built taking
into account the requirements of management for this project.
In addition there will be an economic and financial analysis in order to verify which is the
value of the investment to be made, the net present value (VAN), Internal Rate of Return
(TIR) and the payback period on Investment (PRI) that such investment will represent for
hydroelectric Mira.
Complementing is calculating what additional benefit cost for the economics of the thesis
giving us more clearly whether it is feasible or not their implementation. |
