Sumario: The present study was born from the need to improve the process of production of demineralized water from the Esmeraldas I Thermal Central Plant, taking as its starting point the original model of the plant, to perform a general analysis and the detail of the operation of the same, El Which is the basis for the automation of the production and regeneration lines. Through this design an automation design taking into account the control parameters and the conditions for the operation, resulting in a system in which the entire element of the plant is integrated and by means of a Programmable Logic Controller and a SCADA that control, Register and monitor the real-time operation of the same. For the elaboration of the study it makes use of the Intouch software through which it performs the SCADA system in which there are several screens and between them the main screen where the operator visualizes in macro form the demineralized water plant. Likewise, we observe the state of the process variables are these conductivity, temperature level, flow, volume, density and time, there is also recognition, reset and recording of alarms and events that have occurred in the same Excel of the hours of Production and regeneration of the filters of two trains.
