The main objective of this thesis is to develop a production plan more
clean in the Papallacta Integrated and La Mica Quito Sur systems, belonging to the
Metropolitan Public Company of Drinking Water and Sanitation (EPMAPS); the
The mission of the company is to provide potable water and sanitation services
efficiency, social and environmental responsibility, that is why the idea of
propose continuous improvements to the processes that are generated in the recruitment,
conduction and potabilization of each of the systems, through the plans of
cleaner production.
In order to obtain the cleanest production plans of the systems, it was followed
the methodology of the Cleaner Production Ecuadorian Center (CEPL), which
It involves the development of four stages with their respective activities.
In the first stage of planning and organizing the production program more
The commitment of the management was obtained, the scope and goals of the
program, an eco team was formed and barriers were identified.
With respect to the second stage called pre-evaluation, the data was collected
general systems, environmental certifications and internal inspections
as external, through which several impacts could be identified as management
not adequate: waste, storage of raw materials and inputs meaning
improvement opportunities.
In the third stage, process indicators were developed corresponding to
cleaner production and environmental indicators such as the carbon footprint with
a total value of 253.53 tons of CO2 for the Papallacta Integrated System and
68.49 tons of CO2 for the Mica Quito Sur system. Another indicator
The environmental footprint that was considered was the water footprint obtaining the following
results 41,538,971.91 (m³) and 72,475,005.23 (m³) respectively, which
represent the volume of fresh water consumed for annual water production
drinking in each of the systems.
In the study and evaluation stage, the cost of the waste was assessed
considering the initial cost of raw material and the treatment, transportation or reuse of
same.
Finally, cleaner production plans were prepared with each one of the
impacts identified in the systems, these plans contain the following
variables: location, environmental aspect, potential impact, production measures more
clean to mitigate and reduce the impact, verification measures, period of
execution and the person in charge of execution and follow-up. |
