Sumario: Lloa is a community marked by the contrast between the countryside and the city. The relationship that has been woven with Quito as well as its rural past, linked to the system of finance, have produced a hybrid society, where cultural phenomena of the tension between modernity and the modernity arise. Within this context, biomedicine and traditional medicine Lloana, power relations, characterized primarily by the attempt of biomedicine to position as the hegemonic medical model, and in turn subordinate to the "other" medical systems have woven between them coexist.
