Sumario: In order to understand the educational process of the Shuar people it is necessary to share their history and mythology, to re-signify their presence in the world and the contributions they can make to our society. The importance of myth becomes vital in the philosophical conception of the Shuar, since this can be seen in their cultural models and concept of identity, and in turn the fundamental precepts of his ontological relationship to the world. This investigative work proposes a way of interpreting the Shuar culture, from their ancestry and tradition to the challenges they face in the post-modern world. Fundamental questions arise throughout this work including how to rethink the educational praxis of the Shuar people that also maintains openness to the diversity and multiplicity of Ecuador and in turn facilitates dialogue with other ethnic groups which exist to work together towards progress. This analysis intends to combine elements of structuralism and critical pedagogy, as these allow us to re-signify the value of mythological stories and their meanings in forming an education of dialogue. The contributions of mythology constitute key points that allow us re-signify educational experiences within the Shuar community, including content from hermeneutics and senses that become critical to the education process. Finally, an educational methodology was developed to harmonize the principles of educational documents while proposing contextualized educational practices and meeting the needs of the communities of the Ecuadorian Amazon.
