Sumario: This paper presents an analysis of the behavior of under frequency load shedding in isolated power systems based thermal generation and renewable energy intrusion. Wherein the effect of disturbances was studied in the system frequency due to changes in the load- generation and as a serious disturbance influences load shedding to stabilize the system frequency. In order to calibrate the frequency relays to perform load shedding every step drive using the nonlinear optimization process generalized reduced gradient, which allowed to extract minimum values of frequency change to a disturbance, and simultaneously calculate the suitable loading rate in each step to disconnect the relay, avoiding unnecessary burden off. Thus the effect of load shedding in the studied systems also allows us to see how it affects the presence or absence of renewable generation in the system and the impact of these sources of generation to the system frequency in steady state as to a disturbance.
