This research systematized the experience of the “Young People’s network” at
Mira City – Carchi Province. (Red de Jóvenes del Cantón Mira – Provincia del Carchi)
and their contribution to strengthen their own members’ capabilities as well as their
support to the Canton’s cultural development.
In the first part, several concepts like: culture, youth, socio-economic exclusion
and inclusion are analyzed in order to get a theoretical approach that allows the reader to
fully understand the systematized experience.
Then, experience is reconstructed through the collection and analysis of
secondary information. Also, we made a major effort in generating primary information
obtained through key players.
In a third phase of the research, we present results based on experience; in summary,
they are the following ones:
I. Strengthening young people’s capacities.
II. The socio – economic inclusion of youth ones through cultural practice.
III. Cultural revitalization of the Mira Canton.
IV. Strengthening the young social structure.
V. Training of young leaders.
VI. Encouraging young citizen participation to improve local development. |
