Sumario: Market research is considered as a fundamental tool for providing relevant information in making decisions , so this paper uses this tool in the development of a comprehensive analysis process , directed to the study of consumer behavior Distrito Metropoliano de Quito residents, at the time of tourism activities within the city; based on a theoretical foundation based on the contents of specialized texts on topics such as : marketing , consumer behavior , tourism and tourism regulatory Ecuadorian law , incorporating some relevant topics of the Distrito Metropolitano de Quito talking about general aspects like: geographical demarcation , political division , demographics , among others, and thus getting important elements that enables the development of a situational analysis of the current state of tourism in the city.
