Sumario: In the following work, tensile and torsion tests of test pieces are carried out in four materials (steel 1018, steel 1045, aluminum, bronze SAE 40), to obtain data that allow us to characterize the welding. For this first an introduction to friction welding, study of characteristics and chemical composition of the materials that will be used is made. Then, measurements of the specimens are defined to be machined according to standards and characteristics of the welding machine and machines for tensile and torsion tests. Once the test pieces are welded, a machining process is carried out to remove burrs. After this, tensile and torsion tests are carried out on the four proposed materials. Once we obtain the data of the aforementioned tests, an analysis and interpretation of data tables, load - displacement graphs and of the test pieces after said tests is performed. Finally, conclusions and recommendations are presented based on the data, graphs and figures obtained.
