Quito has been experiencing a boom in the bicycle sells during the last few years. As a result the demand of bicycle accessories and parts has required more technical service. Bigger companies are equipped with more variety creating more sources of heavy income. On the other hand small bike shops are losing customers in the market because they cannot fulfill, meet nor produce the services required. These small businesses cannot offer competitive prices, thus they are losing profitability and credibility. Currently families are being forced to live unprotected and without sources of employment. The investigation took place in 32 workshops in Quito, which reveals the realities of these sensitive situations. Most of them do not have appropriate infrastructure. Some workshops are established in the home of the owners. Some of the owners have limited budgets. They are also clandestine business; they do not have the appropriate paperwork. The main reasoning of this proposal is in co-ordinance of the following associative project in order these groups of bicycle shops owners are able to get both parts and accessories of more reasonable prices and along with training in relation to new technology associated to bikes. This will allow their business to increase in profit and production; which will enable them to handle market challenges, providing a comfortable lifestyle. |
