Sumario: In the 70’s decade a white cotton mantle was covering more than 35 thousands of acres in Manabí and Guayas Provinces, this crop produced the total raw material needed for Ecuadorian demands. The current cotton production covers the 8% of the total volume requested for the Ecuadorian market. In 1998, the El Niño phenomenon was one of the factors that affected the cotton production and caused impact that endures until today. Since that moment the cotton production could not be retrieved and it has reflected a considerable drop in cotton productivity For these reasons, this research seeks to create a proposal, creating a plan to replace cotton imports by increasing domestic production, by implementing strategies such as organizing farmers in the province of Manabí, channeled through an association, which aims to improve the quality of life and contribute to agricultural and textile development nationwide.
