The following article presents the development of a prototype network in order to measure and characterize the performance of convergent traffic (voice, video and data) sent in baseband and 4QAM modulation. This was carried out on an optical Metro-Ethernet network in real time, using an ALBEDO / Ether.Genius traffic analyzer, considering parameters such as the bit error rate (BER) and the magnitude error vector (Vector Magnitude Error - EVM) in the constellation diagrams. Traffic was transmitted at 1Gb / s over a 75-km optical link of single mode fiber. With a BER of , which corresponds to an EVM of 38%, the sensitivity of the receiver for convergent and only voice traffic was -19.77 dBm and -20.02 dBm respectively. In this work we demonstrate that it is possible to transmit convergent data in a Metro-Ethernet network using very low-cost transceivers. |
