Sumario: This project is a solution’s proposal to the current difficulties that the Universidad Politecnica Salesiana Quito’s headquarters – South Campus is facing in the manual classroom assignment process, within the difficulties is possible to highlight: firstly, the clash between the timetable and the classrooms; secondly, the lack of optimization in the number of used classrooms, time and involved staff. As part of the proposal, a Web Application is implemented for registering the timetables information which are used like as input to the “Hill Climbing with Random Restart” algorithm that contributes to automate and optimize the classroom assignment process. The mentioned algorithm, which belongs to the Metaheuristics Group, explores a considerable number of solutions in every restart; the solutions are evaluated and are compared between them to obtain the best and optimal solution, in this case the best timetable distribution. According to the obtained results, the implementation of this program allows optimizing the use of the classrooms as well as the reduction of the time and the involved staff in the process exposed.
