Architecture is a social product of plastic character, who keeps in its conformation the
effort and work of human beings. Hence historically humanity has built with the aim of
living spaces built. In this sense we can say that architecture is born when man felt the
need to protect themselves. Intone no architecture that has been built a long time and
there is a new architecture that built all cultures of the world.
Our study focuses on the architecture that we inherited from our taitas and breasts, that
is, we talk about vernacular architecture or ancient architecture. But particularly we
discuss the vernacular architecture of Saraguro Pueblo, to view practices, knowledge and
rituals in construction time.
In Saraguro we approach the indigenous community Lagunas after socialization on the
research project and its approval or consent to make an approach in detail and meet the
people who will share us the knowledge related to the constructive work of the house of
our taititos. Surely, in this sense, we want to know the how are edified? at other times,
what were they? the motivations to build Who participated? at the time of construction,
there are many questions that logically have responded in the course of our ethnography.
Our mamas taitas and built their houses on land inherited from their parents or a close
relative. Their houses were preferably implemented in the flats. Earth and wood were the
basic materials in these buildings that were carted from the hills. Direct observation of
the buildings that are still standing graphed we always projected three rooms, we found
the central hall, the room on one side and the kitchen on the other side. The house
Saraguros was oriented from east to west. Build a house lasted about three months, the
house was built in Minga, with the help of family and friends, the Minga was always
present in the construction industry, from the transportation of materials, the formation
of embankment, digging, shaping the walls, and roofing work always in minga. And in
the Minga food grains and chicha they never are missing |
