Today, the way in which information and communication technologies are used have accelerated the development of data networks; this requires more bandwidth and higher transmission speeds every day. The UDWDM-PON (Ultra Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing – Passive Optical Network) networks are the solution because they are economical in implementation, maintenance, efficient use of bandwidth, and the ability to cover higher information speeds and more users. However, we must be careful with the nonlinear effects in the optical fiber using UDWDM; because, if we don’t take the necessary actions, so they can completely degrade the transmission. This paper analyzes the SRS (Stimulated Raman Scattering), SBS (Stimulated Brillouin Scattering), FWM (Four Wave Mixing), and XPM (Cross Phase Modulation) nonlinear effects in this networks based on software simulations and the comparison of BER (Bit Error Rate), received power values and eye diagrams. Finally, we obtained that these effects don’t permit the information transmission with a BER above 10-9 quantity over 55 km fiber length, 25 mw of power transmission, and 10 Gbps of speed; also, the highest power received was given with a transmission speed of 5 Gbps until 45 km fiber length, after that point it was achieved transmitting with 2.5 Gbps of speed. |
