Sumario: The present study addresses the psychosocial phenomenon of the influence of emotions on the different types of political participation in citizens of Quito in 2017, through a mediation model of three variables, with internal efficacy being the independent variable, moral emotion variable of mediation and the different types of political participation, the dependent variable. Moral emotions are deeply related to positive and negative emotions, differentiating themselves from their precursors by attending to a greater degree the collective phenomenon. Political participation has been divided into two types, political participation off-line and online. The first refers to the citizen action that takes place in the streets, through sit-ins, demonstrations and marches, while online political participation was studied in two fields, namely; the Internet as a virtual platform with all its resources, on the one hand, and on the other, political participation in social networks.
