The research revolves around power relations of the peoples of center with the
periphery, the direct relationship between consumerism dictated by capitalism and the
production of waste. These processes are evident from large cities to medium-sized
cities and small rural parishes of Ecuador.
This study shows an analysis regarding the management of waste in small towns, has
taken the case Quijos canton, located at the entrance to the Ecuadorian Amazon, where
for several years the management of solid waste revolved around garbage dump and
landfill modification by provisions of governmental authority on environmental issues. |
