Sumario: This thesis presents the main results of the research whose primary objective was to analyze the phenomenon of the scholastic desertion from a certain perspective and complex, that to consider dropping out of school as a mere individual act of leave to attend an educational establishment. It is an invitation to discuss the main factors associated with scholastic desertion within the context of disability, being the only drop an extreme expression of school failure and social injustice. Research and development in the participating schools and institutes of special education of the canton of the Esmeraldas province of Esmeraldas, under the provision of a theoretical framework that emerges from the process of reflection and theoretical elaboration-conceptual national and international and the statistical analysis of the experiences and participation of both teachers and parents in the determination of the causes of scholsticdesertion and possible solutions to the phenomenon. The researchers develop the operationalization of this theoretical framework and its investigative design under the rules of the Salesian Polytechnic University and the provincial Department of Special Education.
