Sumario: Fires in industries have been the reason for lost of peop le’s live s and huge economic losses without considering the continuity of businesses with irrev ersible effects. The purpose of this project is the design of fire protection system with the use automatic sprinklers for storage areas containing finished products produced in of a non-alcoholic beverages company. The use of international and well recognized standards such as these produced by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) will be the support to understand how to determine the risk levels associated with specific commodities and their arrangement in storage areas. The selection of a control or suppression system as well as other variable such a water demand or available pressure in the property elements to be considered in thesis. The pipe diameters and system accessories employed are tested hydraulically by engineering equations and design parameters. The pumping system was be selected according to the available water source, and it’s verified by obtaining the system ’s curve. Last but not less important was to understand the necessity of enforcing industries to make use of a certified, approved and/ or listed products in order to ensure that when a fire systems could be called out all elements and component will respond as proposed.
