Sumario: The current research explains and attempts to expand on the subject of collective memory as it constructs ones identity, it achieved this with the help of both youth political participation in the constituent 2008 as its framework and by analyzing the interviews with the National Agreement for the Youth constituent participants. A theoretical review on collective memory took place, comprehending it as a social process for the reconstruction of a group's past based on their effective components. Which demonstrates why an individual's past remains and influences their present life, as this simultaneously promotes the formation of a group's identity. Identity is defined as those shared by individuals makes them seen as part of the same social class, this creates interchangeable beliefs within the group. As a result a collective action takes place because of individual's similar thoughts and behaviors when in interaction with each other, this allows members of the group to create a guideline as they work with each other and furthermore promote group identity.
