Sumario: In recent years, the increase in mobile devices as well as real-time applications, have increased the capacity and bandwidth of wireless systems. It is the biggest challenge the hardware implementation of new digital modulation techniques that allow not only increase the capacity of wireless systems, if not this be flexible. This paper aims at implementing an encoder and decoder for real time video transmission through Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP). Through experimental tests in the telecommunications laboratory of UNIVERSIDAD POLITÉCNICA SALESIANA headquarter Quito campus south; some parameters of both the transmitter and receiver were varied, which allowed to obtain the parameters of system performance. analysis of performance parameter BER for different values of gain in the receiver, and system behavior occurs when there is a significant increase in noise in the transmission channel, it was determined that the minimum reception gain is 8 dB and to have a proper video transmission is necessary to have an Eb / No of 31 dB and a noise floor that remains is observed. Finally, the configuration parameters USRP both the transmitter and receiver to transmit video in real time is presented.
