The aim of this project is to design and analyze the operation of the Michell Banki turbine to benefit from the hydraulic energy produced by this turbine as well as to stimulate the implementation of these electricity generation systems in our country. This is significant as the demand for the use of renewable energies is increasing.
For this study, the authors have divided the following report into four chapters, which explain the processes of development and design.
Chapter I comprises the corresponding background that aims to explain the content of the following chapters.
Chapter II explains the hydraulic and mechanical design of the Michell Banki turbine, which is based on mathematical development that applies the theory of hydraulic machines in order to describe the dimensions of each turbine component.
Chapter III describes the simulation of the axis that is coupled to the turbine with the software Autodesk Inventor, program for advanced mechanical design in 3D.
Chapter IV discusses a cost-benefit analysis, using the data obtained during this project. This analysis is used to determine the economic advantage of Michell Banki turbine over other energy sources. |
