This work allowed the study of the biodegradability of four types of oxo -
biodegradable bags used to sell products, simulating environmental conditions of a
landfill located in the city of Manta.
It started from a field study involving the characterization of large chains selling
products in the city; we proceeded to the collection and selection of 4 samples of
bags with greater impact of consumption. Which were subjected to solar radiation for
two months, then the samples were seeded in different substrates and conditions of
temperature and humidity was simulated for 3 months in a bioreactor.
The quantification of biodegradation is carried out by assessing the physical,
mechanical , thermal and spectroscopic properties , where by it was found that the
samples subjected to testing showed an onset of biodegradation where there was
decrease in the molecular weight , thickness and tensile strength , formation carbonyl
groups by oxidation and constant melt temperature. |
