Since 2000, Ecuador has used the US dollar as the official currency. As a result of
eliminating the Sucre as the official currency, images of Ecuadorian culture were exchanged for symbols of a foreign culture.
The Ecuadorian currency that circulated more than a century in the country is a
representative symbol of national culture and was an indispensable part in the
commercial, social and culture development of society. In each of these coinages,
images of places and important people of Ecuadorian history took shape. Over time, the
events of history have been studied, distinctive approaches and basic education levels.
Today, with the possibility offered by new Information technologies and
communications, learning history is more practical and fun.
The hypermedia applications offer the possibility of compiling a virtual site in different
multimedia content. The application developed to meet the Ecuadorian currency has an
extensive gallery of coins and bills that have served Ecuadorians from the early days of
its foundation. In addition, the product presents itself, a chronological history of the
country, counting situations, political instability, crisis money counterfeiting, social
development, infrastructure development and presidential mandates that allowed the
creation of different Ecuadorian coins that accompanied the country for over 100 year |
