In this work, the introductory chapter will introduce a brief historical review of the printed press worldwide, the consolidation of the print media as industry, the transition of the printed press towards the digital age until a possible disappearance of the print media.
The second chapter provides the first printed publications, the different web tools producers of expression and the ethical dilemma whether everybody is able to become journalists. This will be used to know the social networks as journalistic tools and the present of digital journalism in the country.
In the third and last chapter is shown the analysis of the main characteristics of El Comercio newspaper web page in Quito city. As well as the main similarities and differences of the printed version. As from this particular case, this will seek to determine where the digital journalism is headed up, the new routines, sources and audiences in Ecuador. |
