Sumario: This study analyzes the welfare of the elderly in the San Juan de Dios Hostel in Quito from the analysis of public policies. Research has one main objective: that is to know the social impact of the implementation of public policies of care for the elderly and two specific objectives are: to analyze how they have implemented public policies and services and interpret results such implementation. To do this, a review of the matrix quality standards of care for geriatric centers according to the modalities of care and verifying the implementation of protocols and standards applied in the hostel, also with the help of literature that explains becomes on the subject. In addition, the odds of having certain level of welfare based on certain factors of the plan of good living for the elderly are analyzed.
