Sumario: This research includes an analysis of some characteristics in children between four and five years old, regarding to the development or delay of communication skills. This is a study realized through a field research methodology; by a qualitative and quantitative focus, an inductive and deductive analysis, besides a survey and interview to a population sample of 47 boys and girls, and 8 female teachers who shape the faculty of the "Banco Ecuatoriano de la Vivienda" Kindergarten, located in the city of Quito, Pichincha province. This research demonstrated that boys and girls show deficits in some communicative skills. Although it is a small percentage, is extremely important to eradicate such deficiencies and let the children develop, in an effective way, their communication skills, which are of great importance in an initial level and primary school level.
