This research was conducted in the field of Cubinche Parish Hope, Canton Pedro Moncayo, Pichincha Province whose main objective was to evaluate the effect of methods (Miller, Doolittle, Double traslarve) breeding queen bees of the species Apis mellifera; in productive and reproductive parameters of the colonies and the specific objectives they were: Identify the playback method, which provides the largest number of fertilized queens to multiply and replenish bee colonies, determine the playback method that provides the greatest production of honey , for it was proposed 3 treatments:
Miller Method T1, T2 or traslarve Doolittle method, dual method traslarve T3. The variables were accepted in each method (Miller, Doolittle and Double traslarve), queens born in each method (Miller, Doolittle and Double traslarve), mated queens in each method (Miller, Doolittle and Double traslarve), production of honey queen cells in kilograms. For the analysis of results data for each treatment was compared. After the investigation concluded that playback queens Doolittle method (T2) which was introduced more effectively because acceptance of real cells at 72 hours reached 73.68% with a total of 28 cells, the Queens births were 25 individuals equivalent to 89.28% of a population of 28 queen cells introduced into the nuclei followed by the Double method traslarve (T3) because the acceptance of the queen cells was 24 queen cells reaching a 31.57% at 72 hours; Doolittle births to 25 queens queens reached 89.28% equivalent of a population of 28 introduced queen cells, followed by the Double method traslarve with 22 individuals equivalent to 91.66% of a population of 24 royal cells; fertilization of queens the Doolittle method reached 20 mated queens equivalent to 80% of a population of 25 queens born, followed by the Double method traslarve 16 mated queens of a population of 20 queens born; Miller method (T1) was the least efficient treatment because the acceptance of queen cells 3 cell accepted, of which 2 reached their birth, but the two managed to fertilize queens of 100% was obtained. When performing an analysis of honey production in the two areas of Pedro Moncayo, La Lorraine with the Doolittle method it totaled 99.40 kg, but the average yield kg / hive is not the best since Miller with just one hive reached the highest average of 4.93 kg / hive method, while for Double traslarve reached a total production of 52.80 kg with an average yield of 1.9 kg honey / hive / method.

While in the Doolittle method Mojanda reached a total production of 127.55 kg however like to Lorraine average yield kg / hive is Miller is higher with 12.86 kg honey / hive, followed by the Double method traslarve with 106.4 kg of honey with an average yield of 8.5 kg honey / hive and finally the method of Miller reached 35 kg of honey with just a beehive; As is recommended for breeding queen bees of the species Apis mellifera using the method Doolittle or traslarve because it presented the best results in terms of variables acceptance, birth, fertilization of queens, but for honey production Miller presents the best results. |
