Sumario: This study compared different culture media for production of leukotoxin from M. haemolytica, finding that those culture media enriched with vitamin B complex and iron have the greatest leukotoxin production, as their areas under the curve for the culture medium 5 is 6 trillion area units, generation time is 0.35 hours to produce 28.40 generations in 10 hours of bacterial kinetics and for the case of culture medium 2 has in its formulation TPB, Iron and Thiamine is why the area under the curve is 8 billion of area units expressing a generation time of 0.37 hours to generate 27.19 generations throughout the course of bacterial kinetics. The immunogens based on live bacteria cultures 10 hours are those who have given more efficient results. It is argued that this type of biological agents are effective because young crops produce more material immunogenic (capsular material, leukotoxin and other poorly defined antigens) (Moore, 2005). That is why the culture media 2 and 5 in Ecuador are efficient industrial scale to produce leukotoxin. The presence of leukotoxin was evidenced in laboratory rodents Mus musculus males with a mean weight of 28 g, to which they were administered via intraperitoneal 1 ml of filtered supernatant from the culture medium (1 mL / 28g) that produced the Death mice also were necropsied to recognize the damage level of internal organs. The target organs of M. haemolytica leukotoxin are the lungs, generating swelling and change the normal color of each organ. This study was conducted under the auspices of the company PHARMA JAMES BROWN of Ecuador where a culture medium were proved good performance and improving efficiency to produce leukotoxin industrially from M. haemolytica.
