Sumario: This thesis is a proposal of a communication plan for Cecilia Rivadeneira Foundation; nonprofit organization founded in 2004 that aims to benefit thousands of children with cancer in Ecuador. Foundation volunteers are specialized in recreational training, using symbols and body language that provoke laughter, helping the patients that are receiving conventional treatment in a hospital. For the development of this research, the theoretical basis of Palo Alto´s School and Jürgen Habermas communicative action theory were used. The concepts of Communication Development were specially used and the Organizational Communication and steps of strategic planning were used too. The communicative diagnosis for the FCR, shown that there are shortcomings and weaknesses that have prevented the Organization´s work are known socially, it was determined through surveys and interviews to members of the FCR and students Career in Social Communication from the UPS-Quito, campus Girón. With the design of a communication plan, shortcomings and weaknesses will be reduced; thereby increasing the institutional image and adequate communication between children, their families and the Foundation will also develop directly. Finally the importance of creating communication proposals that benefit the Foundation was determined. These proposals include improving internal and external aspects that facilitate, promote and improve communication processes within the strategic communications plan with currently available to the organization and its stakeholders.
