The developed prototype is a solution to monitoring the physical threats that be found in the data center of the Salesian Polytechnic University, being possible to visualize the values in an application programmed in Java and free platforms, for smartphones with Android operating system.
It consists of a network of wireless sensors, a coordinator module and a Raspberry minicomputer, which together with the technology of the Arduino boards, work harmoniously for data collection, filtering and processing of information, for later visualize it in the mobile application and in the web environment.
The qualities of the GSM SHIELD module for Arduino, alerts had made by means of the mobile network, sending short text messages (SMS) and calls, to alert the incident manager, being possible to take preventive and corrective actions to avoid future events.
The design is a low-cost solution, compared to other proprietary monitoring systems that require annual licensing and maintenance payments, with savings for companies that require a similar system.
Once the prototype is implemented, due to its autonomous structure, the administrator has the facility to monitor 24/7 the physical threats within the data center at any time, through a mobile device or access to the web environment. |
