Sumario: The present investigation, of the line of communication and citizenship with axis in communication and generic sex diversities, it is found out what is the perception of the inhabitants of the Mariscal Foch about the gay community in Quito with the purpose of knowing how it is perceived the existence of the activities and the presence of the different gay members of the LGBTI community in the public space of the city of Quito. In addition, this academic article collects and identifies what is the opinion that these activities generate in the inhabitants of Mariscal Foch, referring to inhabitants as those individuals who live, dwell, work or transit daily in this space of encounter and socialization. It also identifies and makes visible the meeting places of gay people of the LGBTI collective. It should be noted that throughout the process of this research the theory of symbolic interactionism is used to analyze the verbal and non-verbal language of the inhabitants of Mariscal Foch respecting to the gay community in Quito.
