In Ecuador the vertical transport business appeared with the first high buildings in the country. Today the use of this kind equipment is so common and efficient that the expectations and requirements go far beyond the need for transportation. A complex and strict set of rules and legal requirements regulate, control and delimit this business; which added to the expectations and specific requirements of customers, along with millimeter precision and human factors involved, do not leave room for loose ends. Because of this, the need to implement the quality management system appears.
With the existing analytical methodologies, documented information on the requirements and standards applicable to the country was collected simultaneously with the informal knowledge base available in the company; all these information were analyzed in detail to assess the starting point.
Subsequently, and using exploratory techniques; processes, where quality and assurance are essential part of all management to meet compliance requirements and standards, were developed.
