The present investigation is carried out in the Cóndor Mirador neighborhood in the city of Quito. Speaking of generations focused on technology means putting all ages in context that live together today, that is why this research addresses a specific generation, the baby boomers and the impact that the use of new technologies has on the communication focused on the use of electronic money. Making use of techniques such as the survey and interviewing people over fifty years old and experts has been able to show that this generation group is currently experiencing discrimination and exclusion by the banking system which has changed the manual ways of handling money and It shows preference for the use of technology instance that is complicated for baby boomers, also another point evidenced is the distrust that these people have for the historical context towards the banking system, for the reason that they were victims of the biggest bank embezzlement that Ecuador lived. Something important that resulted from the research is that the Savings and Credit Cooperatives became the host institutions for people over 50 years old because they do not require them to use technology to manage their accounts and maintain traditional forms. |
