In this present project analysis, design and implementation of a geoportal for a Chaquiñán route located in Tumbaco, using PostGIS and OpenLayers, based on the principles of XP methodology is performed.
The geoportal will be useful for the institutions responsible for providing support to individuals that requiring this type of information for academic affairs, among others. It will also help solve some of the problems of informational source to the community; i.e., it will show through maps updated information and locate as well as native vegetation, endemic, sites, areas and places along the route of the Chaquiñán.
For the analysis, design and implementation of the geoportal an accurate study of the Chaquiñán area was realized by gathering relevant information from the most important points through GPS and mobile applications; for the information of plants its common name was noted, then was consulted the scientific name in books recommended by the Ing. Ondina Landázuri expert in botany.
In the planning stage the use of best practices proposed by the XP methodology, which comply with delivery times is defined.
Regarding the design and coding of the SIGC system “Sistema de Información Geográfica del Chaquiñán” features are used according to the IEEE 830 standard.
Free software tools as Openlayers, PostGIS, among others are used; which guarantee the proper functioning of the SIGC system and Dreamviewer used for development.
The implementation of the geoportal on the Salesian Polytechnic University servers will bring benefits to the research areas than require it. |
