Sumario: The use of standards and regulations to determine methodologies, activities and responsibilities within a work area are very important to enable the effectiveness of business productivity. The Data Center of the Salesian Polytechnic University lacked the use of these regulations that make up a network management model applicable to the needs that the students or group of researchers have. The proposal of a management model based on regulations, processes and good practices, such as COBIT 5 and ITILv3 respectively, allowed to interact simultaneously to establish a single model that covers the different possible activities to be carried out within the Data Center. For this, the use of COBIT processes related to network management and the function of applying good practices with the ITILv3 framework established a management model based on certain processes and activities applicable to the functionality that the Data Center will have through the proposal of process diagrams. Through the implementation of the management model proposal, a change in the methodology detected in the initial state of the University Data Center can be obtained by maintaining an orderly guideline based on processes and activities that can be done by the staff in charge, adjusting its work strictly to the functionality of the process diagram proposed by the COBIT 5 and ITILv3 frameworks, with this, it will be possible to obtain a total efficiency in the execution of the processes and productivity of the Data Center of the Salesian Polytechnic University.
