This work focuses on the Design and Simulation of a Steel Pedestrian Bridge taxable
under the rules of the Metropolitan District of Quito in charge of Empresa
Metropolitana de Obras Públicas EMOP-Q and the alignment of the AASHTO
standard (American Standard Building Roads and Highways).
To calculate the pedestrian bridge has been considered live loads recommended by
the standard, to additionally took into account the load acting on the structure sisma
calculated under the Ecuadorian Code of Construction in Chapter 12 relating to
Design Spectrum Seismic Hazard Minimum Requirements and Calculations for
Earthquake Resistant Design.
The shape of the structural calculation was by applying the equation of Clapeyron
five laps and the calculation of moments by the open-chain method developed by Mr.
Alejandro Segovia professor at Universidad Central del Ecuador, applied primarily
for closed structures displaceable in our case by the action of basal cut horizontally at
the threshold for seismic effect.
The results have been obtained by different calculation methods have been tested
with the help of SAP 2000, the minimum variation in results is that this package uses
the Finite Element Theory being that much more developed as opposed to traditional
methods of calculation. |
