The document refers to the design and construction of a prototype electronic trap system to attract and capture the African snail that is affecting papaya crops in the parish of San Jacinto del Búa, Palma Sola precinct, km 14, of the Province Of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. This project has as main beneficiary small farmers in the area, which can minimize the damages and losses that can cause this mollusk in their crops.
This prototype of control has a collection container in which the bait can be placed and the snails that fall after receiving the electric shock are collected, on the outside it has a plastic container containing water, besides a pump Which sprinkles water every hour for three seconds to moisten the trap and that this is also a more attractive for the snails to enter the prototype. It also has a pump that draws water inside for the days that rain when it enters the trap, also has warning lights, a 12 volt battery and for the detection of presence of the snail in the trap was used infrared sensors Which once they detect the African snail send a signal to activate the electric arc generator. |
