Sumario: The development of the National Early Warning Surveillance and Control Vector of Dengue and Yellow Fever: DENGUE SATVEC PIC-12-INH-002, a coperative project of the Instituto Nacional de Investigación en Salud Pública (INSPI) and Secretaría de Educación Superior, Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación (SENESCYT); includes as one of its fields of research to the identification of the serotypes of dengue virus presents in the population of Aedes aegypti. Dengue is an infectious illness that in Ecuador has been represent an endemic and epidemic behavior since its reemergence at the end of 1988; about 8 million of people who living in tropical and subtropical areas of the country that have deficiencies in basic and health services, are currently at risk. The present study was realized in the Cooperativa de Vivienda Provincias Unidas located in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas during the months from January to April of 2014, following the protocols developed by the Project SATVEC Dengue. The laboratory phase was conducted with reference to the methodologies used by Lanciotti et al.,1992 and Harris et al., 1998 the same that have been adapted to the conditions and the availability of materials and equipment in the laboratory of Molecular Biology of Medical Entomology in INSPI-Quito.
