This project aims to estimate the risk of fire in the ecological reserve "Illinizas" by descriptive methodology proposed by the civil defense of Peru; this methodology related vulnerability and danger by a double-entry matrix. 5 zones studies (Aloasí, Chugchilan, Cerro Azul, Heart and La Granja) in each of which the fire danger and vulnerability identified estimated. To estimate vulnerability was taken into account seven different types: Physical, Educational, Economic, Social, Cultural, scientific-technological, political and institutional. Intensity (number of hectares burned) and frequency (number of fires occurred): While for the estimation of two variables was assessed risk As a result it was obtained that the sectors with the greatest danger were: La Granja and Aloasí. Besides the highest vulnerabilities they are: the Scientific-Technological and Physical Education. The highest risk was found in the sectors of La Granja and Aloasí (very high risk) and the lowest in the Heart (Low Risk) However most fires are analyzed in a specifically high Andean Paramo ecosystem and literature review found that the ecosystem is dependent nature of fire. In addition it was found that land use is a significant factor in the presence of fire. |
