The main objective of this project consists in analyze the increase of the capacity of a ram pump until getting a height of 50 meters, considering the impact and also taking advantage from the use of renewable energies sources which help the environment.
The equipment installation was made in Quito, in the Tumbaco parish, at las Peñas neighborhood where the location has the necessary requirements for the realization of the project.
The analysis which involves the improvement of this equipment available in the Fluid Mechanics Laboratory, was made applying methods and principles like: head losses, operation parameters of the hydram which were based on international certified studies by scientific documents that where maid by Development Technology Unit (DTU) that guaranteed a properly efficiency of the pump.
The improvements involve elements like supply pipe, air chamber and the impulse valve shaft, which helped to reach the expected results comparing them with the initial conditions of operation.
According to the methods described above, these are the final results, the delivery height is 55.78 meters with a supply flow of 323.8 liters per minute and a delivery flow of 7 liters per minute. |
