We carried out an exploratory study in nine patients. One man and eight women, between
46-70 years; attending the outpatient clinic “La Concordia” of the Hospital Pedro Vicente
Maldonado/Pichincha/Ecuador.
We developed and applied a systemic interviewing tool in the context of family practice
focusing in diabetes type II. We wanted to elicit what it offered for the individual, the
family and the health care professional.
The systemic interviewing tool reached family resources that support the interventions
focusing in achieving self-management and empowerment of the individual and their
family system allowing them to live with diabetes type II. |
