This research Project is founded in the evaluation of the levels and types of familiar abandonment of senior citizens admitted into a social protection institution, in order to identify possible causes of cognitive deterioration. The importance of this research lies in that effectively identifying the relation between familiar abandonment and cognitive deterioration enables the creation of intervention programs early enough to prevent said deterioration wherever possible.
The research verifies the hypothesis from its beginning, or so to say, cognitive deterioration in the research population seems to be an effect of familiar abandonment, even when admittedly, the deterioration does not have a monocausal etiology, therefore familiar abandonment is not the only responsible cause. |
