Sumario: The present paper analyzes the regulatory regime of electronic documents storage in Panama. First, it is enunciated its evolution: from a brief policy statement in 1998 to the Law 82 of 2012. Then, the purpose of electronic documents storage, such as for private use or to offer as a service to third parties, are discussed. At this point, it is stressed the need that, whoever stores those documents, must register with the Electronic Commerce General Direction. Subsequently, the topics related to the authentication of documents and the storage registration requirements are developed. Finally, it is announced the benefits of receiving the special regime of guarantee of inviolability referred to mirror database, such as tax or labor benefits.
