This research aims to explore the relationship between leadership styles and the performance of work teams. For this purpose, we work with a sample of 38 intermediate management teams in an organization in northern Chile. The results show that leadership styles explain 58.2% of the variance in the performance of the teams in the analyzed sample. Similarly, it should be noted that the transformational leadership (Test t = 1,907, p <0.065), transactional leadership (Test t = 2,610, p <0.013) and laissez-faire style (Test t = -1,867, p <0,071) are statistically relevant to explain the performance of the teams studied. With these results the scopes, limitations and implications of the research are discussed. |
