Studies concerning the optical phenomenology of the eye and refractive structures such as the cornea and lens among others, have qualitative and quantitative information from emmetropy and refractive error of this optical system in particular. In the developed work it was to determine the location of the principal planes in the cornea of 192 people treated at the clinic Santo Tomas University based Bucaramanga. He started taking information from the measures of the radii of curvature of the anterior, posterior surface of the cornea and corneal thickness generated by the Pentacam HR which were recorded in the archives of the School of Optometry in periods of 2009 to 2012. Physical and mathematical equations, text Physiological Optics Mariano Aguilar, are used and the main points and planes of corneal diopter are determined. It was possible to determine the power of the cornea with an average value of 41.07 D representing 3.05% error from the theoretical value of 42.36 D. It also was determined that in each of the age groups location the principal planes and was left out of the cornea, which is consistent with the dioptric optical physiology research. It can be said that the location of the principal planes in the cornea can be affected by patient age being analyzed. The results obtained make it possible correlations with the exercises and / or models made at national and international level in the field of optometry, ophthalmology, among others, complementing the knowledge we have about optical physiology of the cornea. |
