In this text we have proposed to approach a suitable definition of literature. First we seek a general definition/conception, starting from the word and its different concepts throughout history; then, we pause to review the convergence between the terms individual, language, and literature; this way, we focus on the exhibition and representation of the individual, the broad human being, both in his self and in his world view, which is in the literary space. Finally, we propose that in this conversation that reading is, the reader can discover his inner self, expand his vision to build what is essentially his self, and also to understand what he sees in nature. But furthermore, through literary reading, it is possible to improve his condition to listen, understand and comprehend others. |
